The Direct Services Manager provides strategic oversight to Shelter, Blue Heron, and Outreach teams ensuring that both emergency services and community-based outreach are delivered effectively, ethically, and in compliance with grant requirements. What You'll Do As the Direct Services Manager you will lead the coordination and implementation of program goals across direct services departments. This role ensures consistent coverage, smooth operation of program services, and alignment with the organization's mission. The Direct Services Manager is responsible for providing team supervision and leadership, overseeing program operations and compliance, supporting client services and advocacy, and engaging in community and organizational engagement.

Examples of duties include:

Oversees shift and field operations by supervising Shelter, Outreach, and Blue Heron staff, including supporting the management of staff schedules and ensuring continuous coverage to maintain service quality and client safety. Assists in the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of direct service staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to professional standards. Oversee all aspects of shelter and outreach operations, including intake procedures, client services, and coordinated entry efforts. Collaborates with the Deputy Director to oversee data collection and reporting processes to track program outcomes and compliance with grant requirements. Instructs staff on proper utilization of internal and external databases, including Salesforce and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Supports implementation of a housing-focused shelter model, ensuring guests engage in resources that support transition to safe and stable housing. Advocates for the rights and needs of shelter guests, ensuring they receive appropriate support and access to resources. Facilitates staff engagement with the Missoula Coordinated Entry System, including promoting attendance at case conferencing, temporary working groups, and continuous improvement opportunities. Qualifications Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Masters in Social Work (MSW) preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Strong supervisory and program management experience is desirable. Experience working with unhoused individuals, including individuals with mental illness and substance use, preferred.

Requirements:

Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Successful completion of a thorough background investigation. The position reports to the Deputy Director of Shelter and Programs and is based at the emergency shelter in Missoula, Montana. The wage for this position is $28.75 hourly.
