Job Description and Duties Anticipated Interview Dates:
We anticipate holding in-person interviews beginning October 5, 2026. Are you the person who can make retirement security feel relevant, timely, and even a little fun on social media? Do you have the expertise to lead social strategy for the nation's largest public pension fund? If so, we invite you to join the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) as our Social Media Manager (Information Officer II). In this role, you'll lead the Office of Public Affairs' social media program within the Media & Messaging Unit, setting the direction for how CalPERS engages with members, stakeholders, and the public across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You'll manage day-to-day content operations, collaborate with a talented team, and use data to sharpen what's working and pilot what's next—all while ensuring our social media voice stays consistent, credible, and aligned with CalPERS' brand and communication goals. Telework Information:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week. Sponsorship This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
