A Fiscal Director or Budget Director manages the budget and finance department of government agencies or cities. They manage the operations of the budget and finance department; including leading analysts and staff. They review and make recommendations on budget requests and options in terms of policy, programs and objectives for the agency or city while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and statutes. They are responsible for the accumulation of data to support the development of financial analysis and budgeting, including the preparation of quarterly, monthly and annual financial performance measures.

Accounting Description Responsibilities The Budget Officer reports to the Vice President for Fiscal Affairs and is responsible managing all aspects of the universitys budget to include direct communication, coordination, preparation, and implementation of the annual operating budget including developing revenue and expense estimates. He/she will provide guidance, technical support, and training to all university department budget officers. The Budget Officer will participate in developing, implementing, documenting, and communicating budgetary policies and procedures with university-wide application. He/she will be responsible for developing and maintaining internal operating policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines. The Budget Officer will prepare analyses for use by administrators and senior leadership to make academic and budgetary plans for the university and performs all others duties assigned by the Vice President and other members of management. Qualifications Qualifications A bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, tenkey and other office equipment; and effective oral, written and interpersonal skills are essential. Knowledge of Jenzabar is preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience with budget preparation and management. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively both written and orally across all functional areas. He/she must be able to provide direction and guidance to constituents and work with minimum supervision.
