Job Description

Job Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Clerk to support the Purchasing and Planning departments during an exciting period of growth and operational transformation. This role will work closely with the Purchasing Coordinator and partner with manufacturing, shipping, customer service, production, and other internal departments to ensure materials, supplies, and purchase orders are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer service-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are a self-starter who actively seeks ways to support the team, follows through on commitments, and effectively resolves purchasing and order-related issues. Support daily purchasing and planning operations. Create, process, and track purchase orders (POs). Follow up with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding order status, deliveries, and outstanding requests. Coordinate with manufacturing, production, shipping, customer service, and other departments to ensure purchasing needs are met. Resolve order discrepancies, including damaged, defective, incorrect, or rejected products. Communicate with suppliers to facilitate returns, replacements, credits, or issue resolution. Monitor deliveries and ensure products arrive on time and as expected. Manage procurement of office supplies and operational materials. Respond promptly to inquiries from internal departments and external vendors. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within ERP systems. Participate in cross-functional touchpoints to support organizational goals and improve processes. Assist with onboarding and training activities before transitioning support to the manufacturing plant location as needed. Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture by proactively identifying opportunities to help others.

Skills and Requirements 2 years minimum of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing, life sciences, or similar production environment. 2 years experience creating, managing, and tracking purchase orders. 2 years experience coordinating with vendors and resolving order issues, including damaged, incorrect, or rejected products. 2 years experience working cross-functionally with multiple departments. Proficiency with ERP systems such as Acumatica, Oracle, or similar platforms. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service and vendor relationship management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative and support team objectives.
