As part of OM Seating Purchasing team, our Purchasing Clerk is responsible for carrying out several purchasing and clerical functions pertaining to the purchase of raw material, supplies, and equipment as needed. Under this role you will:
Collaboratively maintain new Forecast methodology/procedures Create and issue purchase orders in a timely manner and without error Obtain lead times from suppliers and update ERP System with PO ETA Review open orders and monitor shipments to ensure that the delivery of product is on time; communicate and document shipping delays Work with other departments, including engineering, for sourcing and cutsheet support Work closely with Design team to assist in interpreting and forecasting trends for new products Prepare and update shipping schedules in a timely manner Work with freight forwarders for quotes shipment booking, custom clearance, and container delivery Organize and file shipment documents Communicate any issue hindering order production Provide support to other departments as needed in the reconciliation of purchase orders to sales orders Report damaged goods and shortages with our domestic and overseas vendors Verify part counts to Purchase Order, Manufacturing Order and Vendor Pack List Communicating daily with buyers Conduct annual inventory count with the Warehouse Dept. Quickly adapt to changes/trends occurring in the business and in the marketplace Daily monitoring and planning for inventory purchase Keeping an inventory of products and supplies on hand and replenishing these items Help the flow of products to help to determine inventory levels and needs Collect pricing, quotes, specifications, and other data related to goods and services from different vendors; update database as needed to ensure accurate pricing of goods and services other duties as assigned Qualifications High degree of attention to detail is key! Strong time management, organizational skills and high level of accuracy Ability to follow instruction, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment Ability to work independently and with a team Proactive thinking Strong multitasking ability Strong problem-solving skills Requirements Bachelor's or Associate's degree 2-3 years relevant experience in wholesale/manufacturing or office environment Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Order Processing systems Experience with ERP systems Excellent mathematical skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills Calm and professional demeanor Ability to traverse the production floor as needed Conversational Spanish (a plus, but not required)
