Job Description

Job Summary The Associate Plant Buyer supports the Plant Buyer with sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating plant material from suppliers. This role helps ensure plants are available in the appropriate quantities, quality, and specifications and are delivered or picked up on time to support Company projects and operations. The position works closely with the Plant Buyer, suppliers, nurseries, Project Managers, Production Managers, and field teams. Responsibilities Assist the Plant Buyer with sourcing and purchasing plants from suppliers and nurseries. Contact suppliers to confirm availability, pricing, quantities, sizes, quality, and lead times. Assist with obtaining quotes and comparing pricing and availability. Prepare and maintain purchase orders and purchasing records. Track orders and follow up with suppliers regarding availability, delivery dates, and changes. Accurately tag plants for inventory management and customer orders. Assist with coordinating plant pickups and deliveries, including proper handling and loading. Assist with inspecting plant material for quantity, size, condition, and quality. Communicate shortages, damages, or quality concerns to the Plant Buyer. Assist with monitoring inventory and identifying shortages or availability issues. Assist with researching new suppliers and plant sources. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Follow all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and Company policies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills / Abilities Basic knowledge of plant varieties and general horticultural practices. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and purchasing systems. Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures. Ability to travel locally to nurseries, suppliers, and project sites as needed. Commitment to safety and Company policies. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1-2 years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, nursery operations, purchasing, inventory, logistics, or a related field preferred. Plant, nursery, or landscape experience is preferred but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Occasional travel to suppliers, nurseries, and project sites. Work may be performed in mostly in office and sometimes in outdoor environments. Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions. Ability to assist with handling, tagging plant material.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
