Cen-Pe-Co has been in business since 1911, marketing products directly to the heavy-duty equipment user. Cen-Pe-Co scientifically formulates, manufactures, and sells a full line of extra heavy-duty high performance oils, hydraulic oils, greases, and fuel additives to farmers, truckers, contractors, and anyone with heavy-duty equipment who is looking to save money and maximize their equipment's life. Cen-Pe-Co also custom manufactures and markets Columbia Industrial Paints and Roof Coatings for wood, masonry, and metal surfaces. Job Description Cen-Pe-Co is seeking a motivated, highly organized Front Office & Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The Front Office & Purchasing Assistant supports daily administrative and purchasing operations. This role is responsible for managing purchasing activities, maintaining accurate records, handling front office communications, and assisting with inventory control. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and send them to suppliers in a timely manner Prepare and submit documentation when materials from POs are received Maintain organized purchasing documentation, including supplier files and purchasing records Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and related inquiries Answer incoming phone calls professionally and transfer calls to appropriate departments or personnel Track incoming and outgoing inventory to ensure accurate inventory records Assist with inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and purchasing transactions Support general front office administrative duties as required
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in an office, purchasing, or administrative role is a plus Strong organizational and record-keeping skills Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks Professional phone etiquette and communication skills Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, and office software) Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment:
Office-based front office position with regular interaction with suppliers, internal staff, and customers.
