Job Description
About the Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join a growing manufacturing organization specializing in water treatment equipment, chemical blends, and custom fabrication. In this role, you will support a high-volume purchasing team by managing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate ERP data. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain operations while working closely with purchasing, production, operations, and finance teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Do As a Purchasing Assistant, you will:
+ Maintain and update existing purchase orders within the ERP system.
+ Monitor open and past-due purchase orders to help ensure timely delivery of materials.
+ Communicate regularly with local and national vendors regarding order status, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines.
+ Follow up proactively with vendors to resolve delays, shortages, and order discrepancies.
+ Track incoming deliveries and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
+ Ensure purchasing records, order documentation, and ERP data remain accurate and up to date.
+ Assist with purchase order tracking, invoice reconciliation, and reporting activities.
+ Gather and maintain purchasing data for analysis and operational reporting.
+ Collaborate with purchasing, production, operations, and finance teams to support material availability and business needs.
+ Support backlog reduction initiatives and help improve purchasing processes and efficiency. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
+ Experience working with an ERP system (Acumatica experience is a plus).
+ Previous experience working with vendors in purchasing, customer service, logistics, supply chain, administrative support, or a related function.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Proficiency with computer systems and accurate data entry. Preferred Qualifications
+ Prior purchasing or procurement support experience.
+ Experience in a manufacturing, operations, or supply chain environment.
+ Experience managing purchase orders, vendor follow-up activities, or order maintenance processes.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
