We specialize in making high-quality flexible packaging solutions for a variety of industries nationwide. Job Overview The successful candidate will assist the Purchasing Manager in the inventory management, allocation, and purchasing of all materials used in the manufacture of flexographic packaging. The candidate will have to be organized, a good communicator and data analyst, and understand the different types of materials and processes that are used to create our products. Duties Includes, but not limited to the following: Process purchase orders for raw materials based on production and inventory needs. Coordinate with production planning, warehouse, and quality teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules. Maintain and update purchasing records, pricing databases, and supplier contact information. Support supplier evaluation and onboarding, including documentation and compliance checks. Maintain organized files for contracts, purchase agreements, and vendor certificates. Assist buyers/purchasing manager with market research on material costs and availability trends. Investigate raw material quality issues. Reject materials and manage RA process. Ensure efficient utilization of stock and inventory materials. Ensure all work orders support film utilization goals. Order stock film and all production/extraneous materials as needed. Verify stock film and manage stock materials report. Manage film callout and ensure proper supplies arrive. Trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders. Manage incoming truck appointments. Manage "Stolen Film". Confirm availability of materials needed to manufacture orders. Allocate materials and place film orders if needed. Perform any other job duties as assigned by manager. Required Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty accurately and in time to meet the company's target deadlines. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Associates degree or higher, Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent experience. 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience. Familiar with flexible packaging material. Knowledge of packaging industry terminology. Experience with vendor management or supplier scorecards. Understanding of import/export or international sourcing basic if working with overseas suppliers. Knowledge of food packaging regulations. Ability to respond effectively to stressful situations and changing priorities while maintaining composure and professionalism. Ability to read and comprehend technical requirements and manufacturing data. Excellent organizational skills Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, proprietary computer system) Ability to work effectively within a team-based organization. Willingness and ability to learn about various aspects of packaging manufacturing. Ability to learn new skills and apply them across a range of applications.
