(NHP) is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting our Purchasing Department and ensuring materials, products, and supplier commitments are managed accurately and efficiently. This is a full-time, onsite position Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. The Purchasing Assistant will work in a professional office environment as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities Create, issue, and maintain accurate purchase orders. Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, monitor lead times, and ensure materials arrive on schedule. Proactively follow up on open POs and communicate delays, shortages, and changes in delivery dates to the appropriate internal departments. Obtain and maintain required MTRs, certifications, and other material documentation from suppliers. Assist the Sales team with supplier pricing, freight costs, product availability, and quote requests. Coordinate open PO status with the Operations team to support production scheduling and customer shipments. Monitor inventory levels and use historical, quarterly, and annual purchasing data to identify purchasing needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Research suppliers, products, and alternative sources to identify cost savings, improved lead times, and purchasing opportunities. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through consistent communication and follow-up. Identify purchasing issues and take initiative to research solutions and resolve problems before they impact operations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing information and documentation. Perform other purchasing-related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (High school diploma/GED required) Ability to commute to our Millville location Monday-Friday; onsite position only.
