We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Assistant at our headquarters in Cleveland, OH.
JOB SUMMARY
The Purchasing Assistant will assist the Purchasing Manager in guaranteeing receipts of products/services per requirements (internal/external). The Purchasing Assistant will also be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures; maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation; and conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased. RequirementsMAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
(not all inclusive):- Convert Requisitions into Purchase Orders and email to Vendors.
- Expedite Purchase Orders as required.
- Assist all divisions with questions and requirements regarding Purchase Orders and Requisitions.
- Review and correct pricing and due date discrepancies on Purchase Order Confirmations and Invoices.
- Create weekly PO Funds Committed and PO Receipts Reports for all divisions and send to appropriate personnel.
- Enter new vendors into Infor.
- Assist MRO Purchasing Manager with cost reduction and implementation programs.
- Create and maintain MRO Savings Spreadsheets.
- Customer contract review/order entry.
- Maintain inventory of office, breakroom and janitorial supplies for corporate offices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED required.
- 2 years minimum purchasing experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
- Computer/technology literate, to include: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Data entry preferably in Infor and Lotus Notes.
- Workbook creation and maintenance in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with vendors and employees N o phone calls or third-party recruiters, please.
