Job Description

Medical Scheduler Pay:
$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30
PM Job Type:
Full-Time Position Overview We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding , excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment. This position will be responsible for answering scheduling calls, coordinating patient appointments, and scheduling surgeries and GI procedures. The successful candidate will also assist with other business office responsibilities as needed and will be cross-trained in additional areas. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming scheduling calls and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner Schedule surgeries, GI procedures, and other patient appointments Coordinate scheduling details with medical staff and providers Verify patient insurance information and eligibility Enter and maintain accurate patient and scheduling information Use knowledge of medical terminology and coding to support scheduling and office functions Communicate effectively with patients, providers, coworkers, and insurance companies Maintain patient confidentiality and follow office policies and procedures Assist with other business office duties as needed Participate in cross-training to provide support in other areas of the office Qualifications Previous medical office or healthcare administrative experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding required Experience with insurance verification preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office environment Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Dependable and willing to learn and assist with various office duties
