Tempe, AZ Job Details Full-time $15 - $17 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Medical office experience HIPAA Medical records Patient interaction Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Overview The Palliative Care Scheduler is responsible for coordinating patient appointments and provider schedules while ensuring timely communication between patients, families, providers, and the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate palliative care patient visits. Manage provider calendars and optimize daily schedules. Confirm appointments with patients and caregivers. Coordinate new patient referrals and obtain necessary information. Communicate with nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and other members of the care team. Track cancellations, rescheduling, and missed appointments. Ensure patients are scheduled for follow-up visits as recommended by the clinical team. Maintain accurate patient and scheduling information in the electronic medical record. Assist with coordinating home visits when applicable. Follow up on referrals and outstanding scheduling needs. Communicate changes in patient status or urgent scheduling needs to the appropriate clinical staff. Provide professional and compassionate customer service to patients and families. Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications:
Medical terminology. Previous healthcare scheduling or medical office experience preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize time-sensitive requests. Comfortable working with electronic medical records and scheduling systems. Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Compassionate and professional when communicating with seriously ill patients and their families. Knowledge of Maricopa County and surrounding communities, including major cities and neighborhoods. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
