Full Job Description Description:
We are a busy, growing outpatient neurology practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced Medical Scheduler who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent customer service skills, and understands the complexities of medical scheduling and insurance verification.
Requirements:
Qualifications :
Minimum of 1 year of medical scheduling experience (neurology experience preferred). HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans. Medical groups and IPA referral processes. Prior authorizations and referral requirements. Experience using an electronic medical record (Epic experience preferred). Excellent communication and phone etiquette. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a high-volume medical office. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Responsibilities:
Schedule new and follow-up appointments for multiple neurology providers. Review referrals and schedule patients according to diagnosis and provider preferences. Verify HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance eligibility. Understand medical groups, IPA requirements, referrals, and authorizations. Identify when authorizations are required and ensure all required documentation has been received prior to scheduling. Communicate professionally with patients, referring providers, insurance companies, and internal staff. Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Answer a high volume of inbound and outbound calls while providing exceptional customer service. Reschedule appointments, manage waitlists, and fill cancellations when appropriate. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality. Full Time Major Holiday's off After 90 days Birthday paid off Reimbursement on scrubs
