Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Assistant Director of Staff Development (ADSD)/ Scheduler. The pay rate is $24/hr. and up, depending on experience and qualifications! Previous ADSD or DSD experience is preferred. Join our skilled nursing facility as the Assistant Director of Staff Development/Scheduler, where you'll be the driving force behind seamless staffing operations and inspiring professional growth. This dual-impact role combines strategic workforce management with educational leadership to elevate patient care and team excellence. The Assistant Director of Staff Development (ADSD) is responsible for supporting the Director of Staff Development in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff in a skilled nursing facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting professional growth and maintaining quality care standards. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and conducting orientation programs for new nursing staff Support ongoing in-service education and competency evaluations Help maintain training records and documentation Collaborate in creating and updating educational materials Assist in monitoring compliance with federal and state regulations Support implementation of new policies and procedures Help coordinate continuing education programs Create and maintain comprehensive staff schedules across all nursing departments while monitoring coverage levels and managing labor costs Coordinate with department heads on staffing needs, manage time-off requests and shift changes, and optimize scheduling efficiency through pattern analysis Qualifications Must possess, as a minimum, two (2) years college. Must possess a Clear & Active CNA certification in the State of California. Previous ADSD experience preferred Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience in a post-acute/ skilled nursing facility, or LTC preferred Required Skills Strong leadership and organizational abilities Effective teaching and mentoring capabilities Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Physical Requirements Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including but not limited to: Standing and walking for extended periods Lifting up to 25 pounds Demonstrating clinical procedures Operating medical equipment
