Job Description
Operations Assistant - LAX Hub Sorting About SpeedX SpeedX is a tech-enabled last-mile delivery company founded in 2022, now delivering over 1,000,000 parcels per day across 12,000+ U.S. zip codes for 30+ marketplaces, 3PLs, and retailers. Our LAX Hub is a key node in our cross-border and domestic sortation network, where speed, accuracy, and reliability keep our clients' shipments moving. Position Summary The Operations Assistant - Sorting supports daily sorting operations at the LAX Hub. Reporting to the Hub Manager, this role executes the manager's instructions on the floor and, most importantly, leads, instructs, and coordinates labor staff and labor-agency workers to ensure sorting runs smoothly, safely, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities ▪ Lead, instruct, and coordinate sorting labor and labor-agency workers — direct daily tasks, provide hands-on guidance, and ensure output meets quality and productivity standards; ▪ Execute the Hub Manager's instructions and support the daily sorting workflow; ▪ Assist in receiving, dispatching, inspecting, handling, and stocking inbound products; ▪ Receive returns, count and confirm quantities, determine condition, and complete related paperwork; ▪ Arrange shipment pick-ups, contact delivery drivers, and coordinate schedules; ▪ Communicate effectively with other departments across the company; ▪ Respond quickly to customer/client inquiries, resolve problems, and escalate service issues to the supervisor; ▪ Promote and encourage safe work practices among the team; ▪ Arrange daily cycle counts and follow up on variances; ▪ Provide weekly report updates; ▪ Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications ▪ 1 year of relevant experience preferred — no experience necessary; full training provided; ▪ Moderate computer skills; able to assist with report data collection; ▪ Strong sense of responsibility, follows supervision well, and communicates clearly; ▪ Ability to lead and direct floor labor effectively; ▪ Bilingual in Chinese and English preferred.
