Job Description

Essential functions - Bilingual in Spanish is preferred Maintains patient records: Verifies and updates demographic, insurance, and other necessary information in the medical record. Schedules patient appointments and follows up with other departments as needed to prep for upcoming visits. Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in line with company policy and recommended workflows. Collects copayments, out of pocket amounts for services and past due balances for accounts. Sends forms and questionnaires to patients that may need to be completed prior to visit. Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties through education while also answering their questions. Ensures availability of treatment information by uploading, filing and retrieving patient records. Use all available resources to provide and send medical information to allow for efficient coordination of care, all in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintains satisfactory, regular and predictable attendance by reporting to work as scheduled and keeping unscheduled absences to a minimum. Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies. Maintains integrity of operations by following policies and procedures; provides feedback and ideas for improvement. Works in a team to accomplish goals and ensure task coverage. Other tasks as assigned. Competency — 1-2 years of direct customer service experience required Must be computer and internet savvy. Familiar with Outlook, MS Word, Excel and possess intermediate level web navigation, keyboard and typing skills. Professional communication written and verbal Organized and efficient Exceptional time management Problem-solving skills with quality focus Self-starter with good judgment EMR (Athena) experience is ideal
