Job Description
About Us We are a leading provider of emergency backup power solutions across Northern California, specializing in generator sales, service, and maintenance for commercial and industrial clients. Our mission is to keep the lights on when our community needs it most. Position Overview This is a high-energy, logistical role that requires a sharp mind for geography, timing, and technician skill sets. Your primary goal is to maximize the efficiency of our field team by ensuring the right technician is at the right job site, at the right time, with the right information. You will manage the daily calendar, respond to emergency service calls, and balance a mix of preventative maintenance and urgent repairs. Just as important as logistical skill is emotional intelligence: this role demands someone who can read a situation, stay composed with a frustrated client, and communicate with tact and professionalism when the pressure is on. We are seeking a proactive problem-solver who can handle the "puzzle" of a moving schedule while keeping every client relationship steady.
Key Responsibilities Master Scheduling:
Manage and optimize the daily and weekly schedules for a team of up to 10 field technicians across Northern California and the Central Valley.Emergency Dispatch:
Act as the primary dispatcher for urgent requests, rerouting technicians efficiently to minimize downtime for clients.Route Optimization:
Plan service routes to minimize travel time and fuel costs while maximizing completed stops per day.Client Communication:
Notify customers of their scheduled service windows and provide real-time updates on technician arrival times.Work Order Flow:
Review incoming service requests and assign them based on technician expertise and location.Collaboration:
Work closely with the Service Team to schedule approved repairs once parts have been received and staged.Status Tracking:
Monitor technician progress throughout the day to identify potential delays and adjust the schedule accordingly.Reporting:
Assist the Service Team in tracking KPIs such as first-time fix rates and billable hours. Qualifications Commercial & Industrial Experience (Required): Proven experience coordinating service for commercial and industrial clients. This is a necessity — candidates with residential-only backgrounds will not be a fit for the demands of this role.Emotional Intelligence:
Exceptional interpersonal awareness — the ability to stay calm, read people, de-escalate tense situations, and maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.Logistical Experience:
Prior experience in dispatching, scheduling, or logistics, ideally in a trade industry (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or construction).Geographic Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with Northern California and Central Valley geography and traffic patterns.Communication Skills:
Calm under pressure, with the ability to handle high-volume phone calls and emails professionally.Critical Thinking:
The ability to "think three steps ahead" when a technician gets stuck on a job or a truck breaks down.Tech Savvy:
Proficiency in CRM or dispatching software and high overall computer proficiency.Adaptability:
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where the schedule can change five times before noon. Benefits 401(k) with 4% company match Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Professional development and industry trainingPay:

Draft the email or text message you would send the client to inform them. (You're welcome to use AI tools to help you write it — we use them here too. We're interested in the final message you'd actually send.) Describe your experience working with commercial or industrial clients. What made it different from residential work?Work Location:
