Why This Role Matters The Operations Assistant supports the Director of Finances and Operations in keeping WDLT's financial and operational processes accurate, organized, and compliant—both in the office and in the homes where the Individuals we support live. What You'll Do Assist with Home Visits & Audits Travel to WDLT group homes, residences, and program locations on a regular schedule to conduct operational and financial audits. Assist with auditing Individual personal funds, receipts, and spending logs to confirm balances are accurate and purchases align with approved budgets. Assist with auditing house petty cash and supply purchases, verifying receipts and documentation against established spend limits. Assist with checking household supply levels and storage, and report needs or concerns to the Operations Coordinator. Assist with document audit findings, follow up with house managers on corrective actions, and track open items through to resolution. Assist with Individual Personal Finance Support Assist with monitoring Individuals' bank accounts and flag income changes or unusual activity to the Operations Coordinator. Help update weekly account balances in the tracking spreadsheet and support the preparation of monthly expense budgets. Gather financial information from house managers and case workers to support IP finance reporting. Assist with tracking DSS cash remittance for CLA room & board. All other duties as assigned. Required Trainings and Certifications The Operations Assistant is responsible for completing all agency-required trainings, including confidentiality, Human Rights and Neglect and HIPAA training, and for maintaining the knowledge necessary to support agency operations and regulatory compliance. WDLT provides onboarding and ongoing training to support continued success in the role. What You Bring Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; coursework in accounting, business, or a related field preferred. One or more years of administrative, bookkeeping, or office support experience. Experience in human services, healthcare, or another highly regulated environment preferred. Familiarity with DSS, SNAP, or Social Security benefits processes is a plus. Skills & Capabilities Strong attention to detail and basic mathematics skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Sound judgment and deductive reasoning when reviewing records and identifying discrepancies. Professional, respectful interpersonal skills, especially when working in Individuals' homes. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information with discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the work—big and small—done. Physical & Other Requirements This role requires regular local travel between WDLT homes, program locations, and the Naugatuck office to conduct audits and support operations.
