For more information about ECPA, please visit About the Opportunity BTWA Elementary School is seeking a Part‑Time Secretary / Office Operations Associate who brings warmth, professionalism, and strong organizational skills to our front office. This team member plays a central role in creating the welcoming, orderly, and predictable environment that allows excellent teaching and joyful learning to flourish. As Connecticut's first all‑boys public charter school, ECPA ois now entering its next pivot stage of growth. After a successful launch year with a small founding cohort, the school is now growing toward full scale—ultimately serving nearly 400 scholars in grades 5-8—and student enrollment is at the heart of that trajectory. In this space, the Part‑Time Secretary / Office Operations Associate will work closely with the Operations Manager, Principal and the broader team to support daily office operations, family communication, student data management, scheduling, and frontline service. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, calm under pressure, and energized by helping a school community run smoothly. Joining ECPA at this stage means stepping into a school community still writing its early chapters. This role is perfect for someone who understands how essential high‑quality office operations are to the daily experience of a middle school campus — and who takes pride in making complex logistics feel seamless, while helping to contribute to operational practices that will shape the school for years to come. ~ ~ ~ Key Responsibilities of the Role As the next Part‑Time Secretary / Office Operations Associate at ECPA, you will be primarily responsible for: Front Office Operations & Family Support Provide warm, professional, and values‑aligned frontline service to families, students, staff, and visitors. Welcome and direct visitors; manage phone calls, messages, and inquiries with clarity and care. Maintain a well‑organized, welcoming front office environment that reflects BTWA's culture of excellence. Administrative Support & Communication Support the Operations Manager and Principal with scheduling, meeting coordination, and daily administrative needs. Draft and distribute clear, accessible communications to families and staff; support translation needs when applicable. Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and notes as requested. Student Data & Records Management Maintain accurate student records and files (PowerSchool and paper files), ensuring confidentiality and compliance. Support daily attendance monitoring, including outreach calls to families. Assist with enrollment documentation, registration tasks, and other student data needs. Operational Support & Logistics Manage supply requests and maintain inventory of office materials. Coordinate basic office equipment maintenance and handle incoming mail and packages. Support school‑wide logistics, events, and routines as needed. Culture of Excellence Model professionalism, service orientation, and problem‑solving in all interactions. Anticipate needs, identify inefficiencies, and contribute to a smooth, predictable school environment. Uphold BTWA's mission, values, and commitment to educational equity in daily work. ~ ~ ~ Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate While no one candidate will embody all the qualifications enumerated below, the ideal candidate will possess many of the following professional and personal abilities, attributes, and experiences: Required Qualifications High school diploma or higher. At least 2-3 years of experience in administrative support, office operations, or customer service. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and follow‑through. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and comfort learning new systems (e.g., PowerSchool). Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional presence. Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality. Flexibility, reliability, and comfort interacting with diverse personalities and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Associate's' degree or higher is preferred Experience in a school setting, particularly in an urban or high‑expectations environment. Familiarity with charter schools and/or charter school operations is a plus. Bilingual or multilingual skills — especially Spanish — strongly preferred to support inclusive family communication.Core Competencies Operational Excellence:

Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual's skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. The hourly rate for the Part‑Time Secretary / Office Operations Associate position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and aligned to our organizational compensation scale. Final compensation may be adjusted based on relevant experience and qualifications.
