Operations Support Associate Mangia DC Food Tours Washington, DC Job Details Contract $18 - $20 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Paid training Flexible schedule Qualifications Packing Customer service Driver's License Bachelor's degree Packaging Guest services Full Job Description Mangia DC Food Tours is seeking energetic and reliable individuals to join our operations support team! Operations Support team members at Mangia DC are integral to the "behind-the-scenes" success of our DC food tours, group classes, and other special events. Operations Support team members work with every type of Mangia DC event to ensure it's success. From public tours to private events to virtual classes, our operations team members are a critical piece of the Mangia DC team. In this role, Operations Support team members can expect to assist with event set-up and preparation (including food tour ordering and materials drop-off), engage with guests during the event, and provide aid during event wrap-up (including repacking supplies and helping with cleaning up post-event). Positions are part-time; events typically occur weekday evening and weekends. Training begins immediately and is paid. To learn more about what we do, please visit www.mangiadc.com.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide assistance with set-up and tear-down of private events, entailing moving supplies, cleaning cookware, and driving materials to and from the supply storage area Act as an assistant to the event team lead by retrieving needed materials for guest use and by providing customer service throughout the event Assist with ordering food and setting-up dining areas for our private and public food tours Support virtual events through packaging and occasional delivery of event supplies at our in-person office
REQUIREMENTS
Live in or near Washington, DC Undergraduate degree Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to follow evolving instructions Be willing to use a personal vehicle for transport of supplies to and from event venues Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs Be vaccinated against
COVID-19
Be responsible and over 21 years of age (as you may be asked to assist in serving alcohol)
PREFERRED QUALITIES
Weekday evening and weekend availability; our public food tours currently run on weekend afternoons with weekday private events mainly taking place at night Self-employed individuals and/or flexible schedules preferred, but not mandatory Background in restaurant or event industry preferred, but not mandatory If you've made it this far, you know what we're hoping candidates bring to the table, so here's a few highlights of what Mangia DC will provide to our new teammates.
