$20.50 - $24.09 / hour Summary A Great Opportunity to Join Lee Health Lee Health is seeking an experienced Outpatient Scheduling Specialist to join our high-volume scheduling team at the conveniently located Orion Building , near our Gulf Coast Medical Campus in central Fort Myers. For external candidates, the starting rate for this position is $20.50/hour. Strong medical scheduling experience , preferably scheduling outpatient procedures Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple computer systems Experience managing a high volume of calls while maintaining accuracy and professionalism Excellent communication, active listening, and customer service skills Patience and empathy when assisting patients with questions or scheduling needs Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and prioritization skills The ability to multitask and remain focused in a fast-paced call environment A commitment to providing an excellent patient experience What You'll Do As an Outpatient Scheduling Specialist, you will help coordinate timely access to care by: Managing a high volume of incoming patient calls Scheduling outpatient-based procedures accurately and efficiently Communicating appointment information and scheduling requirements clearly Coordinating scheduling details across departments and services Using multiple computer systems to document and manage scheduling information Balancing call volume, efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional patient service Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable with technology, can handle a high volume of calls, communicates exceptionally well, and maintains patience and attention to detail throughout the day. Join Lee Health and build your career with a team that puts patients first. We are looking for an organized, dependable, practical, and driven Outpatient Scheduling Specialist to join our team. This position is very often the first point of contact with Lee Health for information and the scheduling of appointments, and/or recording of patient communication. Therefore, it requires excellent verbal and customer service skills. This role involves taking inbound calls from patients, providers and a multitude of other departments. This position plays a key role in Lee Healths success, as his/her immediate interaction with patients, impacts revenue, repeat visits and patient satisfaction. Therefore, the efficiency of getting it right the first time, while giving great customer service is an essential function of this job. The person in this role must be committed to delivering the highest quality service with an exceptional patient experience. The Outpatient Scheduling Specialist responsibilities include utilizing our practice management system to facilitate access to care through registration, scheduling and recording of patient communications for 300+ providers and/or 1500+ different procedure/appointment types. This person will handle a variety of incoming customer inquiries or requests and will use the appropriate resources to complete accurate responses. In addition to taking inbound calls from patients and offices, this position will require utilizing a work queue to make outbound calls to patients per physicians order to schedule their outpatient procedure(s). The person in this position must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to prioritize, be extremely detailed, organized, and flexible. Expert understanding of all modalities, tests, and diagnosis-related scheduling procedures.
