Senior Planner Seminole Tribe of Florida - 4.0 Hollywood, FL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Civil engineering Mapping using GIS Web development Master's degree Driver's License Bachelor's degree GIS software Civil Engineering Full Job Description The incumbent in this position is responsible for the execution, development and implementation of planning assignments for the Planning & Development Department, as well as managing other planners and coordination of their work. The employee participates in the creation and modifications of residential and commercial site-plans, processing of home site applications, preparation of land use maps, establishment and modification of rights-of-way, property access to rural residential lots and business sites, coordinates with other tribal departments in the set-aside application process, home sites research and assignments amongst the different reservations. This employee collaborates with the GIS Manager and the Planning and Development Director to develop web applications that visualize the progress of Capital Improvement Projects from concept through design, construction, and closeout. Additionally, they create 3D models that are transferred to the end-user department to support facility management. The individual works with relative independence on routine activities and operations and exercises increased initiative in performance of the assignments. Proficiency in the use of ESRI ArcGIS software is required and GISP certification is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working in urban and regional planning or related field is required; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Prior experience in the development of Capital Improvement Plans is preferred. Supervisory experience is desired. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, ArcGIS, AutoCAD and/or other computer software that contributes to the accomplishment of tasks. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in urban planning, civil engineering or architecture is required. Master's Degree and/or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee may sometimes be required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While in the field, may require moderate physical activity which may require handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Driving a company vehicle may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typically, work is performed in an office environment. Regular fieldwork will be necessary in order to perform site reviews at the different STOF Reservations on projects assigned. While working in the field the incumbent may be exposed to the typical South Florida region weather conditions including heat, rain, dust and humidity.
