1st Shift Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Operations team in Miramar, Florida. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, handling, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and finished products throughout the manufacturing facility. This position will maintain accurate inventory records, verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, properly label and store materials, and ensure products are delivered to the appropriate production or storage areas. The Material Handler will work closely with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and other internal departments to maintain an efficient flow of materials while following all company safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming materials, supplies, and products for quantity, quality, and accuracy.
- Compare incoming deliveries with purchase orders, packing slips, and other applicable documentation.
- Label and properly store materials in designated locations.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production and other departments as required.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, stand-up reach trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and complete required material movement and inventory documentation.
- Track the movement of materials between receiving, storage, production, and other designated areas.
- Identify and locate materials and products needed for production and shipping activities.
- Process returned, damaged, or incorrect materials and complete required documentation.
- Communicate purchasing requirements and report low-stock or shortage conditions.
- Work with internal departments to locate missing materials, resolve incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of material-handling equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or material-handling environment preferred.
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or other GMP-regulated environment preferred.
- Knowledge of material-handling procedures and inventory control.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and stand-up reach trucks.
- Basic computer, data-entry, and clerical skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and maintain accurate records.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify problems and assist with resolving inventory or delivery discrepancies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills required.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with GMP requirements.
