Full Job Description Organizational Summary:
The Learning Management & Academic Operations Specialist provides hands-on support for the learning management system (LMS) and the departmental course-delivery infrastructure. The role, through quality management, ensures that online, hybrid, and technology-supported courses are accurate, consistent, accessible, and aligned with institutional standards across academic terms. The position focuses on LMS administration, course shell maintenance, faculty support, and coordination with instructional design partners, rather than primary course design or development. The role plays a critical part in sustaining course quality at scale by supporting routine updates, enforcing standards, and serving as a reliable point of contact for learning system operations. The position provides in-unit support for Learning Management System management including maintenance of existing, faculty-approved syllabi across multiple programs and courses that together serve over 1,000 students to provide a uniform and consistent course delivery experience for both faculty and students.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, academic administration, or a related field (or equivalent direct experience)
Degree Equivalency Clause:
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree. Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the

Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree; (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree; (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment. Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in social work (either education or experience) preferred. Demonstrated experience working with a learning management system (Canvas preferred). Experience supporting faculty, academic programs, or course delivery operations in higher education or a comparable environment. Working knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance requirements.
