Job Description

TITLE:
Nursing Staff Scheduler
REPORTS TO
Director of Nursing
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary purpose of your job position is to obtain required information and staff the nursing department in an efficient manner. Perform secretarial duties, record keeping functions to the Director of Nursing in meeting the staffing needs of the nursing department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Director of Nursing ROLE and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility, to assure that nursing services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the facility. Interpret the department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, and visitors. Coordinate nursing procedures with other departments as necessary. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility. Consult with department supervisors concerning their staffing needs, and other related areas, to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services. Perform staffing requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Nursing as required. Schedule appointments, process mail, and answer phones, etc. Keep the Director of Nursing advised of meetings, appointments, as necessary. Maintain an accurate record of employees' availability to work.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent. Must have experience in an employee staffing capacity.
