Back To Results Production Scheduler Job Description Production Scheduler - Onsite Production Planning & Scheduling Develop, publish, and maintain detailed daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, demand forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity. Sequence production runs to optimize efficiency while adhering to allergen control requirements, sanitation changeovers, and safety standards. Adjust schedules in real time to account for equipment downtime, staffing constraints, material shortages, quality holds, or transportation issues. Ensure schedule accuracy throughout the production cycle. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality, Warehouse, Procurement, and Transportation teams to ensure material availability and on-time execution. Serve as a key point of contact between operations and planning, ensuring clear communication of schedule changes and priorities. Work closely with plant leadership to align schedules with preventive maintenance plans and labor availability. Inventory & Materials Management Monitor finished goods, WIP, and raw material inventory levels to support production schedules and customer service and sales requirements. Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and make recommendations regarding disposition. Support inventory accuracy through proper transaction management, receipts, consumptions, adjustments, and transfers. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Prepare and maintain reports and dashboards related to schedule adherence, production performance, capacity utilization, and inventory metrics. Participate in production and operations planning meetings and contribute data-driven insights. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve service levels. Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned. Qualifications & Competencies Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience 3-6 years of experience in production scheduling or planning within a manufacturing environment . Demonstrated experience working with production environments . Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools. Strong background in inventory management and manufacturing operations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of ERP systems. Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and make informed scheduling decisions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing production conditions.
