This position is for a Scheduler, Outpatient whose responsibility is to schedule outpatient procedures, obtain required pre-certification information, verify insurance benefits, obtain pre-certification for outpatient procedures, in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state and local regulations, organizational and department policies and procedures. This position assists with activities to promote optimal care and efficient resource utilization. The position reports to the Director of Utilization Management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum level of
Education:
Education level equivalent to completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
Formal Training:
Clinical competence in medical assistance preferred.
Licensure, Certifications & Registration:
Medical Assistance Certification preferred.
Work Experience:
Experience in pre-certification with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield and other third party payers, CPT and ICD-9 coding helpful. Basic word processing computer skills
