Rome, GA | In-Office Position Overview We are seeking an Operations Specialist to provide operational support across customer order management, logistics, supplier coordination, inventory reporting, ERP administration, and customer account support. This position serves as a key liaison among customers, suppliers, warehouse personnel, sales, purchasing, quality, accounting, and operations teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Receive, review, and process customer purchase orders, forecasts, and demand schedules. Create and maintain sales orders in the ERP system. Generate pick lists, packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and other shipping documentation. Coordinate order fulfillment with warehouse personnel and monitor customer shortages. Communicate estimated delivery dates, order status, and shipment updates to customers. Manage assigned customer accounts and maintain accurate customer records. Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, shipment schedules, shortages, and delivery performance. Expedite materials and shipments as necessary to prevent or resolve supply shortages. Monitor inventory movement and prepare inventory reports. Assist in identifying inventory concerns and communicating changes in customer demand. Maintain customer pricing and process scheduled price adjustments in the ERP system. Coordinate domestic and international shipments with logistics providers. Process and transmit Advance Shipping Notices (ASN). Coordinate mill-direct shipments and work with carriers to support on-time delivery. Create and maintain ERP item records, customer master information, pricing data, and related operational information. Maintain data integrity and accuracy within Microsoft Navision. Participate in customer meetings and professionally address delivery, shortage, pricing, and scheduling matters. Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, Quality, Accounting, and international suppliers. Support operational reporting, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide backup support for operational activities as assigned. May be assigned other duties by management as business needs require. Required Qualifications Approximately three years of experience in customer service, operations, logistics, purchasing, industrial distribution, or a related area preferred. Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Navision experience is preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and employees at all organizational levels. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong commitment to customer service and continuous improvement. Knowledge of inventory control, logistics, and supply chain processes preferred. Ability to work primarily in an office environment with limited exposure to a warehouse environment, including potential exposure to dirt, dust, solvents, oils, grease, and varying temperatures. Preferred Qualifications Japanese and English bilingual communication skills are highly desirable. Experience with EDI and ASN processing.
