Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Scheduler Manager to lead the scheduling function for a long-term Combined Cycle Power Plant project. In this senior role, you will oversee end-to-end schedule creation, maintenance, and integration across all project phases—Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Startup (EPC). Operating out of our Downers Grove project office, you will lead a dedicated scheduling team, ensure contractual alignment, drive Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodologies, and serve as the primary scheduling liaison to executive leadership, joint venture partners, and project owners.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Oversee scheduling team operations, workflow distribution, performance evaluations, and mentorship.
Baseline & Schedule Development:
Lead the creation, updates, baseline, and potential re-baseline efforts across all project phases.
Advanced Integration:
Embed Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) practices into the integrated master schedule to align field execution with engineering and procurement deliverables.
Reporting & Analytics:
Produce and review high-level weekly and monthly scheduling reports, S-curves, critical path analyses, and progress summaries for key stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Client Representation:
Represent the scheduling discipline in client alignment meetings, owner progress updates, cost/schedule reviews, and change order discussions.
Quality & Compliance:
Maintain strict compliance with contract terms, promote best practices, and execute routine schedule health checks (e.g., float path analysis, open ends, logic validation via Acumen Fuse).
Primary Objectives Lead Project Scheduling Strategy:
Direct the development, baselining, and continuous optimization of complex EPC power plant schedules.
Maintain Schedule Integrity:
Perform rigorous quality checks, float analyses, and schedule risk assessments using advanced software tools.
Drive Mitigation & Solutions:
Proactively identify critical path slippages, lead schedule recovery efforts, and deliver actionable insights to project leadership.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Supervise scheduling staff while ensuring tight coordination across engineering, procurement, field construction, and commissioning teams.
Qualifications & Industry Experience Industry Experience:
Direct, hands-on experience in EPC heavy industrial construction , specifically within the Power Generation sector (Combined Cycle gas turbine experience strongly preferred).
Project Controls Expertise:
Proven track record managing integrated master schedules and coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction, and startup/commissioning phases.
Software Proficiency:
Advanced, expert-level expertise in Primavera P6 and schedule diagnostic tools such as Deltek Acumen Fuse . Advanced Work Packaging (AWP): Demonstrated understanding and practical application of AWP and work-breakdown structures in large-scale capital projects.
Communication & Leadership:
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams, present complex data clearly, and negotiate schedule impacts with clients and sub-contractors.
Working Conditions & Commitment Location:
Based out of the Downers Grove, IL project office, with periodic visits to the Wheatfield, IN project site as needed.

Hours:
Standard workweek is 50 hours (5x10s) , with the expectation to work 60-70 hours/week during peak project execution phases.
