Job Description
Job Summary The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining food production schedules that align customer demand, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and material availability. This role works closely with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, customer service, and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery and efficient production execution. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly food production schedules. Balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity and material availability. Design, implement, and continuously improve production scheduling processes to increase efficiency, schedule stability, and on-time delivery. Identify bottlenecks and develop standardized scheduling practices that optimize capacity utilization, reduce downtime, and improve workflow across manufacturing operations. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, equipment downtime, labor constraints, or supply shortages. Coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials are available for scheduled production. Collaborate with production supervisors and planners to optimize workflow and resource utilization. Analyze production performance, schedule adherence, and capacity utilization. Communicate schedule changes and priorities to operations and cross-functional teams. Support inventory management by maintaining appropriate stock levels and minimizing excess inventory. Generate reports and metrics related to production schedules, on-time delivery, and manufacturing performance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning and scheduling processes.
