Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to coordinate patient appointments and manage clinical schedules across all of our locations, efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, comprehensive knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent communication abilities. As a Medical Scheduler, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to confidentiality policies. Duties Schedule patient appointments accurately using various EHR systems Verify insurance coverage and process medical collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical documentation, including care plans and clinical notes, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize appointment flow and reduce patient wait times. Manage patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), and maintain organized filing systems. Provide exceptional patient service via phone communication, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and customer service skills. Requirements Proven experience in medical scheduling within a clinical or hospital environment. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 coding standards, and medical billing processes. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software. Ability to review medical documentation accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or hospital experience with medical office management is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills combined with clerical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Effective communication skills, including phone etiquette and typing proficiency for 10-key data entry tasks.
