West Lafayette Job Summary This entry-level opportunity offers a meaningful starting point for individuals interested in building a long-term career at Purdue University. The role provides hands-on exposure to the University's sustainability initiatives, specifically how it actively reduces its climate impact through reuse, repurposing, and recycling efforts. The successful candidate will gain practical insight into asset lifecycle management and surplus operations within a large higher education environment. In addition, this position offers the opportunity to learn from one of the original higher education surplus operations programs, providing valuable institutional knowledge and best practices in sustainable materials management. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an occasional Saturday, offering a consistent and predictable work routine. The successful candidate for the Utility Operations Clerk will serve in a diverse utility position and will possess the skills and knowledge to perform all service level duties within the scope of Materials Management and Distribution as assigned. These duties include serving as back-up for Shipping, Receiving and Distribution, Surplus, and Building Receiving. Assist with loading and unloading materials, sort and coordinate materials, to deliver. Scan and track mail and packages. High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE) Experience receiving and inventory control A valid US or Canadian driver's license and must be maintainedPreferred:

Basic computer knowledge/skill required Demonstrated teamwork required Ability to: communicate effectively with supervisor/co-workers and vendors is required comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions required lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionallyAdditional Information:
