Position Summary ITW Instron is seeking a Purchase Part Expediter to support its Supply Chain team in ensuring that materials, components, supplies, equipment, and services are delivered on schedule and meet required quality standards. Working under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager , the Purchase Part Expediter will communicate regularly with suppliers, monitor parts availability and delivery schedules, identify potential supply risks, and proactively expedite materials needed to support business and production requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Communicate with suppliers on a daily basis regarding parts that are currently out of stock or forecasted to become out of stock. Proactively expedite the delivery of critical or at-risk parts with suppliers. Monitor supplier commitments, delivery dates, and inventory levels to identify potential shortages and delays. Provide daily updates to cross-functional teams regarding the status of out-of-stock and at-risk parts. Work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Production, and other internal teams to address material shortages and delivery concerns. Follow up consistently with suppliers until at-risk parts are received and inventory levels return to sustainable levels. Identify potential supply issues early and communicate risks, delays, and changes to the appropriate stakeholders. Maintain accurate and timely information regarding supplier commitments, part availability, and expected delivery dates. Support purchasing and inventory-planning activities as needed. Utilize inventory planning, purchasing, and collaboration systems to monitor and communicate supply requirements. Perform other related supply chain and purchasing duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, operations, or a related field . Strong business acumen and proficiency with basic mathematical functions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to changing business and supply requirements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with basic Microsoft Excel functions, including sorting, filtering, and organizing data. Ability to analyze information, identify potential supply issues, and take proactive action to resolve them. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cross-category purchasing , including areas such as: Machined components Fabricated components Cable assemblies Electronics Other manufactured or engineered components Experience working with Kanban inventory systems . Experience with enterprise-level inventory planning, purchasing, or collaboration software such as SAP, IFS, SharePoint, or similar systems . Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment. Experience managing supplier relationships and expediting materials in a production environment. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a proactive and resourceful supply chain professional who is comfortable communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep materials moving and prevent production disruptions. You should be able to identify potential shortages, follow up persistently on delayed materials, communicate status updates clearly, and manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate information in company systems. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative approach are essential for success in this position.
