Position Summary The Surgical Scheduler / Medical Office Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and outstanding patient experiences. This position involves direct patient interaction, surgical scheduling, Medicare & commercial insurance authorization/verification, and close collaboration with physicians, staff, and referral sources to maintain efficient workflow and HIPAA compliance. Key Responsibilities .Coordinates operative procedures, preoperative testing, and surgical authorizations. Verify Medicare & insurance benefits Collect payments, post transactions, manage accounts, interact with billing service Greet patients, manage check-in/check-out Handle phone inquiries with professional etiquette and timely responses. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure full HIPAA compliance. Support office flow by working collaboratively with team members and physicians.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical/surgical office setting. Proven experience with benefits verification, authorizations. Proficiency with practice management software, Microsoft Office, editing. High school diploma or equivalent.
