Job Description
The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club seeks a driven and high-energy Kitchen Operations Associate to join our culinary team across our signature restaurant, Wilson Cove's Vue. This role is ideal for a candidate with a culinary background who brings sharp attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and genuine enthusiasm for learning the art of sushi preparation. As a valued member of an elite culinary team within a high-scale, luxury waterfront kitchen, this position supports dishwashing, food preparation, line cooking, and restaurant expediting, while developing hands-on sushi skills under the mentorship of the Sushi Chef, Executive Chef, and Culinary Director. Scope of Responsibilities
- Execute food preparation across prep, line, and sushi stations with precision, consistency, and adherence to portioning and plating standards
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and maintain sanitation of all wares, cookware, and kitchen tools in compliance with health code standards
- Build foundational sushi preparation skills by assisting the Sushi Chef with rice preparation, ingredient handling, and technique development
- Serve as restaurant expeditor as assigned, coordinating ticket timing and quality checks to ensure seamless, accurate delivery of plated dishes
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation compliance, including temperature monitoring, HACCP standards, and FIFO product rotation
- Uphold cleanliness and organization across all kitchen, dish room, prep, and sushi areas, including proper trash discarding and waste management
- Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels, inspecting deliveries, and reporting shortages or quality concerns
- Collaborate closely with the Sushi Chef, Executive Chef, Culinary Director, and kitchen team to ensure coordinated, efficient workflow
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage, chemical handling, and hazard prevention practices
- Participate in opening and closing procedures, including equipment breakdown, deep cleaning, and readiness for subsequent service What We're Looking For
