Job Overview:
Michigan Veneer LTD (MVL) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated Operations Assistant. The position plays a key role in daily office operations and maintaining strong relationships between MVL and our customers. This position requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and professionally while working independently, and as part of a team. MVL is seeking candidates with strong computer skills, communication and customer service skills, organization and prioritization skills, along with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Greet guests, visitors, and customers in a professional manner. Providing them with any assistance they may need/require for their visit.
  • Book and manage travel arrangements and itineraries for MVL staff and customers.
  • Assist in organizing any company-related events.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, direct call appropriately, and manage messages for all MVL staff.
  • Ensure supplies and materials are in stock for MVL employees and buyers to maintain efficient business practices.
  • Assist in processing log purchases, deliveries, and sales related to MVL inventory along with accurately and efficiently maintaining records of these processes.
  • Accurately reconcile monthly credit card purchases to the monthly statements.
  • Undergo key FSC related tasks and duties that meet FSC Requirements and aid in the preparation for the yearly FSC review.
  • Assist with Month-End inventory tracking, reconciling, and reporting processes.
  • Assist with receiving and processing truck shipments, including recording accurate weights, verifying shipment information, and reporting documents to the trucking company with these details.
  • Assist with processing documents for domestic and international sales. Provide these documents via email to MVL customers and freight companies. Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous administrative support and office experience with customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional and courteous approach when interacting with guests and customers.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Strong recordkeeping and ability to manage multiple tasks at once while maintaining strong organizational and prioritization skills.
