The Expeditor is responsible for supporting production schedules by proactively tracking, locating, and expediting materials, components, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) required for manufacturing operations. Working closely with Scheduling, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, and external suppliers, this role helps ensure material availability and resolves shortages that could impact customer delivery commitments. The Manufacturing Expeditor serves as a key liaison between departments to maintain production flow and meet schedule requirements in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Monitor production schedules and identify material shortages, missing components, and potential supply chain disruptions. Expedite the movement and availability of materials, electronic components, and circuit boards required to support manufacturing schedules. Coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, Inventory, Production, and Receiving teams to locate and secure needed materials. Track open purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure timely delivery of materials. Work directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve material shortages and delivery issues. Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist in locating misplaced or unallocated materials. Prioritize and communicate critical shortages that may impact production or customer deliveries. Support the Scheduling Manager in maintaining schedule adherence and minimizing production downtime. Monitor work orders and material availability within the ERP/MRP system. Assist in managing excess, obsolete, and reallocated inventory to support production needs. Coordinate material transfers between stock locations, warehouses, and production areas as needed. Generate and maintain reports related to shortages, material status, supplier performance, and schedule risks. Participate in daily production and scheduling meetings to provide material status updates. Other duties as assigned Benefits of the

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degrees in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production control, materials management, planning, scheduling, procurement, or inventory control preferred. Experience in an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) or contract manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Experience working with electronic components, PCBs, and material shortages is a plus.
