Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with rotating early-morning and evening support. Hours may vary during the busy summer construction season. About theRole:
Central Specialties, Inc. is seeking a dependable and outgoing Trucking Operations Specialist to support the daily coordination of rental trucks and drivers. This position serves as a primary day-to-day contact for rental trucking companies and helps ensure trucks are properly scheduled, entered into company systems, provided with accurate job information, and ready to work. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable communicating with a wide variety of people, and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Previous trucking or dispatch experience is helpful, but attitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn are most important.Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for rental trucking companies and drivers.
- Collect truck numbers, driver names, phone numbers, and other required information.
- Provide rental companies and drivers with job locations, pit information, map pins, start times, schedule changes, and certified-payroll requirements.
- Enter and maintain trucks, drivers, and assignments within company dispatch and telematics systems.
- Maintain the dispatch list by making routine additions, removals, reassignments, and start-time changes.
- Stagger truck start times based on job needs and direction from the Trucking Manager.
- Coordinate tracking setup and help resolve app, login, and tracking issues before trucks begin work.
- Communicate with rental companies and drivers when trucks are missing information or are not properly tracked.
- Monitor a shared trucking inbox and document payment or timecard discrepancies for follow-up.
- Assist with coordinating water trucks, vans, fuel trucks, equipment hauling, trailer moves, and plant moves.
- Communicate late schedule changes and other important job information to rental companies and drivers.
- Provide rotating early-morning and evening support for urgent trucking, tracking, and job-information issues.
- Escalate rate questions, major scheduling decisions, truck cuts, disputes, and unusual circumstances to the Trucking Manager.
- Perform other trucking and operational support duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outgoing and comfortable speaking with rental companies, drivers, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using computers, mobile applications, email, and shared tracking systems.
- Ability to work independently after training while recognizing when an issue requires management involvement.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Availability for rotating early-morning and evening support. Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in trucking, dispatch, logistics, construction, or a related field.
- Familiarity with telematics, fleet-management, or dispatch software.
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced or seasonally demanding environment.
