Job Description

Professional Summary The Client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Planner and Scheduler to oversee major, multi-year projects of significant complexity. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert in Primavera P6, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing realistic, resource-loaded project schedules, driving Earned Value Management (EVM), and implementing best practices across project planning workflows. This role requires specialized depth in schedule risk analysis, recovery planning, and cross-functional leadership to ensure large-scale expansion initiatives are delivered on time and within scope. Core Responsibilities Develop, refine, and maintain comprehensive, realistic project plans and integrated schedules to achieve multi-year project objectives. Establish and enforce standard Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity coding, and resource loading across all project schedules in accordance with governance guidelines. Implement Earned Value Management methodologies, analyzing Schedule Performance Index (SPI) metrics and generating accurate Earned Value S-curves for executive reporting. Evaluate, align, and integrate contractor master schedules to ensure complete compliance with corporate standards and contractual obligations. Monitor schedule progress continuously, incorporating actual data to forecast critical path milestones, completion timelines, and potential delays. Apply field construction knowledge to perform "what-if" scenario analyses, identify schedule threats, and author actionable recovery or mitigation plans. Communicate schedule performance, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies proactively to Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Project Controls leadership. Drive operational efficiency by auditing existing planning workflows, recommending best-practice solutions, and solving complex scheduling challenges independently. Required Qualifications Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of dedicated experience in project planning and scheduling (10+ years preferred for senior consideration). Advanced expertise in Primavera P6, Power BI, EcoSys, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management principles, critical path methodology, and baseline schedule management. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Advanced experience supporting large-scale industrial or infrastructure expansion projects.
Employment Details Location:
Duluth, MN, or Edina, MN (Potential for regional project travel).
Work Status:
On-site / Standard Operational Schedule (Candidates willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered; relocation assistance and per diem are not provided).
Contract Duration:
12 Months (Initial contract with high potential for extension). #MS1
Pay:
$81.53 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
