This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the Intermediate starting salary of $48,621.60, and a Senior starting salary of $52,511.52. This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 to $6 per hour, depending on the area of operation, when handling winter/emergency operations activities. Responsibilities - What you'll do What you'll do: Performs routine maintenance to building interiors and plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning system. Assists with complex building repairs and renovations. Builds and assembles cabinets, shelving, counter tops, bookcases, tables and baseboards; moves and assembles furniture and partitions. Performs outdoor maintenance such as landscaping, mowing, and snow removal. May install and service liquid chlorine and salt brine pumps at salt buildings. Qualifications - All you need for success All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED/HiSET. Two years equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience in a building repair and maintenance field such as carpentry, electrical wiring, facilities operation and management, HVAC, or related. Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Special Working Conditions:

Job may require occasional, statewide, overnight, travel. Job requires heavy physical exertion and effort. Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment. Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
