Job Description
Tatra Solutions, Inc. is seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Medical Support Assistant (Medical Scheduler) to support the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) Healthcare Services in Gulfport, Mississippi. This position plays an important role in coordinating medical appointments and assisting Veterans seeking admission to the Armed Forces Retirement Home. What You'll Do Coordinate and schedule medical appointments for multiple healthcare providers Serve as the primary point of contact for applicants via phone, email, mail, and in person Communicate appointment instructions and explain medical evaluation processes Coordinate virtual medical appointments and provider schedules Request, receive, organize, and maintain medical documentation Scan and upload documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Track applicant status using Excel spreadsheets and internal systems Conduct appointment reminder and confirmation calls Work closely with Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Clinical Psychologists, Rehabilitation staff, and administrative personnel Provide backup support for medical records and clinic scheduling functions Perform general administrative duties including filing, copying, faxing, answering phones, and data entry Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, patient scheduling, or medical reception preferred Familiarity with basic medical terminology Strong customer service and telephone communication skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Accurate data entry skills Ability to learn Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Ability to work professionally with Veterans, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary teams Preferred Qualifications Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Medical scheduling or patient registration experience Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
