Project Scheduler - North Carolina (Data Center EPC Projects)

POSITION SUMMARY DEC
is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support the planning and execution of large-scale data center construction projects in North Carolina. The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules from project initiation through commissioning and closeout. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls, the Scheduler will ensure project activities are logically sequenced, resource-loaded where appropriate, and accurately reflect project progress. The ideal candidate has strong experience using Primavera P6, understands construction sequencing, and can proactively identify schedule risks while supporting recovery planning and schedule optimization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule Development Develop and maintain detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6. Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity logic, calendars, and project milestones. Develop engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover schedules. Ensure schedules accurately reflect project scope, execution strategy, and contractual milestones. Schedule Maintenance & Progress Updates Update project schedules based on field progress, subcontractor input, engineering deliverables, and procurement status. Monitor actual versus planned progress and identify schedule variances. Perform regular schedule updates and maintain schedule integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Validate activity durations, logic relationships, and critical path. Schedule Analysis Analyze schedule performance and identify risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement. Perform critical path analysis and float analysis. Prepare schedule recovery plans and recommend mitigation strategies. Support impact assessments for change orders and scope modifications. Reporting Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports for project leadership and clients. Develop look-ahead schedules (2-week, 4-week, and 6-week planning). Produce schedule dashboards, progress curves, milestone tracking, and earned progress reports. Present schedule updates during project meetings. Coordination Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning, and subcontractors. Ensure engineering deliverables, procurement activities, and field execution remain aligned with the master schedule. Participate in planning meetings and project coordination sessions. Support commissioning and turnover planning activities. Project Controls Support Assist with prsoject forecasting and schedule performance measurement. Support change management by evaluating schedule impacts. Maintain scheduling documentation and historical schedule records. Ensure scheduling practices comply with company standards and client requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, or a related discipline. 5+ years of scheduling experience on industrial, commercial, or mission-critical construction projects. Experience supporting data center, EPC, or design-build projects is strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required). Experience with Microsoft Project is considered an asset. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and critical path methodology (CPM). Ability to interpret construction drawings and project specifications. Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover processes. Experience preparing baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and look-ahead schedules. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. High attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications PMI-SP (Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional) certification. PMP certification is considered an asset. Experience with Power BI, Excel, or schedule reporting dashboards. Experience working in mission-critical facilities or data center construction. Familiarity with Oracle Primavera Cloud is considered an asset. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout North Carolina. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
