Job Description

Join our team and play a critical role in coordinating patient surgical care from scheduling through procedure preparation. The Surgery Scheduler & Coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and clinical teams to ensure surgeries and related procedures are scheduled accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate resources to support patient care and operational efficiency. Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information prior to procedures. Review physician orders for completeness and accuracy and update patient information in the electronic medical record. Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and other departments to ensure seamless surgical scheduling. Maintain accurate scheduling records and communicate procedure details to all appropriate parties. Collect and accurately document patient payments when applicable. Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Support departmental quality initiatives and contribute to achieving operational goals. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Experience with data entry, computer systems, and standard office equipment required. Previous experience in healthcare scheduling, surgical scheduling, patient registration, medical office administration, or customer service preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
