Job Description
Scheduler Bryan Health United States, Nebraska, Kearney 804 22nd Avenue (Show on map) Jul 24, 2026 Responsible for coordinating the procedural scheduling process for all radiology, lab, ambulatory procedures, and rehab services of the facility. Will be also responsible for procedural scheduling for inpatient and outpatient surgical and procedural services of the facility. Performs other secretarial/clerical duties as needed. Responsible for patient scheduling and coordination for the following areas: Operating Room, Imaging, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, Lab, Interventional Radiology, Rehab, OB, some ambulatory procedures, and Pain Management. Collects and enters all required patient information into EMR.
Schedules procedures called in by patients, physicians and physicians' office staff.
Obtains patient demographic and insurance information.
Coordinates with the Outpatient Services Manager, Director of Procedural and Emergency Services and the procedural area manager to monitor block times allocated for each service.
Communicates appropriately with each area when questions regarding scheduling/block time.
Works with department managers regarding times of service, length of procedures, etc., for appropriate scheduling of patients.
Provides patients/referring offices with general information about the specific department, directions to the department, parking, etc.
Updates information in the computer system for return patients.
Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
Interacts professionally with physicians, patients/families and healthcare staff.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Answers the telephone in a professional and polite manner, communicates information to appropriate personnel.
Communicates clearly and appropriately.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, function under stressful situations, and effectively multi-task.
Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated. Organization and management of the Central Scheduler's activities reflects due consideration for the needs of the other departments.
Makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts and good judgment within scope of practice for this position.
Accepts other responsibilities as directed.
