40 Position Overview SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Schedules cases accurately and efficiently in conformance with applicable guidelines to facilitate quality patient care. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative activities to support department operations.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Answers scheduling calls quickly minimizing time customers are on hold. Verifies schedule prior to finalizing with nurse manager or department of anesthesia. Verifies privilege status of physicians and ensures compliance in scheduling cases. Collaborates with physician's office to schedule cases, negotiating date and time, and avoiding resource conflicts. Gathers complete patient and procedure information and enters data accurately into database. Coordinates special procedure needs with appropriate Organization departments and staff, as well as external resources. Prepares and distributes schedules in accordance with established time frames. Maintains admission report and other department files consistent with department guidelines.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
