Attention to detail Dental office experience Appointment scheduling Phone etiquette Full Job Description Adirondack Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AOMS) is a successful private practice with three locations throughout the Capital Region of New York. Our experienced surgeons provide a full scope of oral and maxillofacial procedures, including wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, and bone grafting. We are committed to providing high-quality patient care while building lasting, trusted relationships with the patients and dental professionals we serve. We are seeking a Centralized Scheduling Specialist with an engaging personality and a genuine desire to connect with patients. The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, team-oriented, and dependable, with the ability to follow through and keep things moving in a busy practice environment. The Scheduling Specialist plays an important role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring surgical appointments are scheduled accurately and efficiently. A successful scheduler is knowledgeable, communicative, attentive to practice needs, and comfortable balancing a high volume of calls with the many details involved in scheduling surgical procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely and professional manner Scheduling surgical procedures accurately and efficiently Following established communication scripts and templates to ensure consistency and accuracy Documenting patient interactions and scheduling information in practice software Responding professionally and respectfully to patient questions, concerns, and complaints Working collaboratively with our offices and surgical teams to meet patient and practice needs Meeting individual and team qualitative and quantitative performance goals Skills and experience that will help you succeed: Previous experience in a medical practice, dental office, call center, or patient scheduling environment Familiarity with medical terminology; dental terminology is a plus Experience identifying and verifying insurance coverage Proficiency navigating multiple software applications, including Microsoft products, EMR, and instant messaging platforms Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment A professional, patient-focused approach and the ability to remain composed in a busy setting What AOMS offers: AOMS proudly offers a competitive wage and generous benefits package . Starting pay is based on proven work experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM.
