Job Description
The Scheduling Coordinator is r esponsible for obtaining accurate patient information in order to schedule appointments for patient related services, using the computer scheduling system. Build and maintain a good rapport with medical providers, rehabilitation, patient family services and nursing teams. Ensure that all resident appointments are scheduled and maintained inside of the scheduling system.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Completes initial registration information in the scheduling system following established policies and procedures. Evaluates therapist and resident schedule to coordinate resident appointments on behalf of all departments. Prioritizes duties and responsibilities, schedules workflow to facilitate production of accurate, efficient and timely output. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing circumstance related to internal/external factors. Exhibits flexibility dealing with changes in scheduling processes and procedures. Schedules /Reschedules appointments as requested and document reason for reschedule as well as maintain email communications with all staff members. Communicates clearly and effectively in a timely manner with patients, families and hospital staff. Receives and returns all communication in a professional, courteous, and confidential manner. Performs other confidential administrative duties as needed. Disseminates schedules as requested to the appropriate hospital staff. Completes appointment bookings, reviews patients not seen and reschedules as needed. Brings scheduling problems or patient's concerns to the attention of the appropriate supervisor. Receives all calls in a professional and courteous manner. Observes and follows policies and procedures of inpatient services. Schedules Clinic appointments, reschedules as needed. Assists administration with special projects. Performs other administrative duties as needed.Non-Essential Duties:
Demonstrates time management skills and assists in general departmental organization. Formal education required : Bachelor's Degree preferred Previous experience required: Previous hospital or physician's office experience. Scheduling and data entry experience preferred. Knowledge and Abilities Able to read, write and speak the English language. Able to work as a member of a team. Detail oriented and strong customer service skills.
