Job Description
Company Overview At Colecraft, we don't just build furniture; we engineer solutions. As a premier manufacturer of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Manufacture-to-Order (MTO) custom commercial furnishings, we thrive on complexity and craftsmanship. From high-end boardroom tables to integrated technology furniture, every piece we create is unique. We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner & Scheduler who excels at turning complex engineering requirements into a seamless, efficient shop floor reality. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager. The Production Planner & Scheduler is the "air traffic controller" of our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for orchestrating the flow of custom projects through our plant, ensuring that materials, labor, and machine capacity are aligned to meet strict delivery deadlines. Because our work is custom, you won't be managing repetitive lines—you'll be solving a new puzzle every day. You will work directly within our Made2Manage (M2M) ERP system to maintain the master schedule and optimize production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Daily, Weekly, Monthly Scheduling:
Develop and maintain the production schedule for all departments, balancing ETO and MTO project timelines with available plant capacity.ERP Management:
Utilize Made2Manage (M2M) to create jobs, release work orders, and track real-time progress through the shop.Capacity Planning:
Monitor machine and labor loads to identify bottlenecks before they happen, suggesting overtime or shift adjustments as needed.Cross-Functional Coordination:
Act as the primary link between Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure that BOMs (Bills of Materials) are complete and materials are staged for scheduled starts.Inventory Oversight:
Work with the procurement team to ensure long-lead custom components arrive in sync with the production sequence.Progress Tracking:
Conduct daily "walk-throughs" and production meetings to validate M2M data against physical floor progress, adjusting the schedule for any unforeseen delays.Lead Time Analysis:
Provide Sales and Project Management with accurate lead-time estimates for prospective custom orders.Qualifications & Skills Experience:
3-5 years of planning/scheduling experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment (Custom wood, furniture, or metal fabrication preferred).Technical Proficiency:
Expert-level experience with Made2Manage (M2M) or a similar mid-market ERP (e.g., SYSPRO, Epicor, Acumatica, NetSuite etc.) is highly preferred.Analytical Mindset:
Ability to translate complex engineering drawings and BOMs into logical production steps.Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to navigate the needs of "type-A" designers and seasoned shop craftsmen.Adaptability:
Since we are an ETO environment, you must be comfortable with frequent change and rapid problem-solving.Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefits:
