Job Description

Lifecare Family Health Center is seeking a friendly, dependable, and highly organized Dental Exit Scheduler to join our team at our Lincoln Street location. This role is responsible for providing a positive checkout experience for dental patients while ensuring appointments are accurately scheduled and front office operations run efficiently. Dependability, professionalism, and consistent attendance are essential, as this position plays an important role in supporting patient care and provider schedules. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Lifecare provides patient-centered medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health services to individuals and families throughout our community. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and providing excellent customer service. This position also requires someone who is self-motivated and able to work independently, taking initiative to complete assigned tasks and support the office during quieter periods between patient checkouts. Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) No routine evenings or weekends Opportunity to work in a mission-driven healthcare organization Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community Professional growth and development opportunities Position Summary The Dental Exit Scheduler is responsible for checking dental patients out after appointments, scheduling follow-up visits, verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting co-pays and balances, answering phones, and providing outstanding customer service. This position also assists with maintaining accurate electronic health records, supporting front office operations, and completing administrative tasks that contribute to an efficient and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Check dental patients out following appointments Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate provider schedules Collect co-pays and outstanding balances Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and financial information Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling questions Enter and maintain accurate information in the electronic health record (EHR) Assist patients with forms and other checkout needs Support patient portal enrollment as appropriate Complete administrative and organizational tasks during slower periods to help maintain an efficient front office Assist other team members as needed while maintaining excellent customer service Use front office systems including EHR, Healow, Microsoft Teams, and other office technology Travel to other Lifecare locations as operational needs require Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision Excellent attention to detail and time management Comfortable using computers, office equipment, and electronic systems Dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to consistently maintain front office coverage Preferred Two years of medical, dental, or healthcare front office experience Experience with patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and collecting co-pays Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system Associate degree or training/certification in medical office, front office, medical assisting, or dental assisting Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Health savings account Life insurance Employee assistance program Paid time off Retirement plan Employee discount Lifecare Family Health Center is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services while fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace for employees and patients alike.
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.50 per hour
